Inside Stories

Hi people!

Also happening tomorrow:

Nov. 3rd, join us for a special screening of South Hill’s INSIDE STORIES followed by a discussion led by award-winning filmmaker Nettie Wild on how the creators use storytelling to change their neighbourhood.
Thursday, November 3 | 7:00 pm
Alice MacKay Room, Lower Level
Central Library, 350 West Georgia St.
Admission is Free. Seating is limited.  Reserve your seat on Eventbrite.
If you knew your neighbours’ stories would you relate to them differently?  The community of South Hill thinks so.  Together with filmmaker Nettie Wild, photographer Shannon Mendes and web designer Jeremy Mendes,  they created INSIDE STORIES–a groundbreaking interactive web experience fusing art and community.
Join the creative team to discover how and why they created INSIDE STORIES. Meet the storytellers, on screen and off — people, like Ben Kwan the tailor who mends clothes on Fraser Street—and who escaped famine and revolution in China; andJinder Johal who arrived from a village in India when she was 8 and now heads up the South Hill Library.
Tell us what’s up in your community. Add your two bits.  Can art + community = social change?  Bring your ideas, your neighbours and your art. Change the world block by block.
This screening and discussion is co-sponsored by the Vancouver Public Library and the South Vancouver Neighbourhood House.
